Plaque 3: The Pilgrims Rest Pub

The tithe map of 1839 shows two cottages and a “beer shop” on the corner at the time. The public house called the “Robin Hood” was probably established soon after. After becoming a free house in 1991 it was renamed the Pilgrims Rest. The pub closed in 2001 and is now a private dwelling.
